Felted soap bars are simply a bar of soap wrapped in wool roving. The wool is naturally antimicrobial and the grippy texture makes the soap less slippery. As you use the soap, suds come right to the surface through the wool. The wool will continue to felt around the bar of soap as you use it over time. Essentially, it works as a soap and a washcloth (or loofa) in one product, making it easier than ever to use your soap in the shower, bath or at the sink. The wool that is shrunken around the soap bar acts like an exfoliant with the additional benefit of moisturization from the natural lanolin in the wool. It further helps the soap to lather more. Let it dry between uses and it extends the life of the bar. Since the wool acts like a washcloth around the soap bar it is especially beneficial for children, people with mobility issues and those with arthritis as it makes for a nonslip surface. As the soap shrinks down the wool shrinks with it. When you are left with just the wool you can use it as a face scrubbie, bath loofa or put it in a drawer as a soap scented sachet.
